Lighting Network, a ray of hope

 In the third week of July 2021, we officially converted the community fund to Bitcoin. At that time the price of Bitcoin was around 32,000 USD.

By that time the community had already started the construction of the Amaru House. It was a very special house because it was a community dream come true. It was financed with savings from the community and the help of an American benefactor. Casa Amaru is built with ecological and recyclable materials. 



And what does Bitcoin have to do with this?

Everything, since this space provided the facilities for us to learn and talk about the world of Blockchain and Bitcoin. We got with good luck, broadband internet for the community and we started with bitcoin wallet openings and lighting to the members of the community.

As software we used the Bitcoin Beach Wallet application, since it has an inclusive language that made it easier to adopt for people in the community. This wallet is developed by Galoy, a banking software developer. https://galoy.io/bitcoin-beach

The great weakness that we have at the moment is in relation to energy, the public electricity supply arrives intermittently.

One of our purposes is to take advantage of the solar, wind and hydraulic energy that we have as possibilities offered by the native nature of the sector. I recognize that we have not been able to make progress in these areas due to technical and economic limitations. 

We believe that with these three natural resources we can create a constant energy network, and at very low cost, with this low cost energy, our goal is to run a lighting network node.

But beyond a node, your help allows us to educate ourselves and our children better, respecting nature in all its forms. When you can visit us, we have community tourism experiences for bitcoiners and non bitcoiners too! thanks for your support.

For the first time in Ecuador (as far as I know) a support fund is made through lightning . It's great to be able to interconnect two communities that are so different but so human. Lightning has arrived to Píntag Amaru, the history of this community is changing forever thanks to your support. Lightning is the possibility of shortening distances, it is for the communities and common citizens of the world. It is to interconnect us in the network. It is a new form of protest. A revolution that is just beginning. The lightning moment

THE LIGHTNING MOMENT I f you've experimented with lightning network before, you know I'm referring to that first time you used the network. This special moment happened to me when I bought 2 bottled waters. The bill came to 2600 satoshis (approximately 1 USD). The transaction was executed almost instantly, at an imperceptible cost.
