Who I am and why I write about Píntag Amaru

I introduce myself to you, I am Mauricio Rubio, Ecuadorian, 44 years old with a family that is my greatest treasure. I have a particularity, I am a Bitcoiner. That is, I am passionate about the world of cryptocurrencies, I save in Bitcoin, and I always try to be close to the BTC community.

I came to the world of Bitcoin by a not happy chance, I fell into a pyramid scheme in 2016 that affected many people in my country. I got discouraged, but I continued studying everything related to the blockchain and in 2021, I decided to make a Bitcoin and crypto Podcast called Cripto Latam. I leave you the link in case you want to check it out.

Immersed in this world, I had read that in El Salvador there was the first bitcoin community in the world, El Zonte (Bitcoin Beach) and I decided to pack my bags and go see with my own eyes, the experience of this community.

I was lucky enough to meet Roman and Jorge, 2 of the founders and community leaders of Bitcoin Beach and I understood that beyond the possible financial speculation with which Bitcoin is associated, it was a great possibility for community development. With conviction I believe that people's lives can be improved and the huge inequality gaps that exist in the world can be fixed with Bitcoin,

The community stops depending on banks, not being in control of their assets, and they abandon a paper currency, which devalues every day and benefit from the potential appreciation of Bitcoin. Creating a possibility of improvement in the lives of community members. I analyzed the impact this could have on communities in Latin America and the world. And in my suitcase I kept the idea of bringing a similar idea to Ecuador.

Stop. And what does the Podcast have to do with all this?

A lot; it turns out that when I returned home our dear housekeeper told me "I heard about bitcoin on the Podcast. I would like you to come to my community and tell us what it's all about" I asked her without delay the name of her community and she told me Píntag Amaru....

That's the beginning of the first Bitcoin community in Ecuador.

I will be happy to tell you every little step we take. If you are reading this you are surely one of our benefactors, thank you for your generosity in helping me to improve the future of these families.

See you soon

Mauricio
